OWN WORDS
“I'm a border security Democrat. Every word you're about to hear is James Tallarico's on the border wall. With every border wall, with every bathroom bill, we degrade our reputation and we dishonor our legacy. On deportations. You can't be a good neighbor if you are deporting hardworking families because of their immigration status. And we have to end this policy of mass deportations. On illegal immigrants. And I taught a lot of undocumented students, and those students tended to be my most patriotic students. On sanctuary. And then in the 2010s, again, stirred some controversy by housing an undocumented family, a mother and son, who were close to being deported by ICE. And we are still providing them sanctuary to this day. On Christianity. You can't call yourself a Christian and reject the stranger seeking asylum at our southern border. On citizenship for illegal immigrants. It is creating a pathway to citizenship for our undocumented neighbors who have been here for years. On the police. It's always rich to me that defund the police is considered off limits in our political debate. On ICE. It's time to tear down this secret police force. Now he says. Abolishing ICE or not. No, and I never have. We need immigration and customs enforcement in this country. But that's not what we're seeing. Border security Democrat. As millions crossed Texas's border under Biden, Tallarico voted against one point eight billion dollars for border security. The Texas Border Protection Unit arrest powers for Border Patrol funding for the border wall, tougher penalties for human smuggling, making illegal entry a state crime and requiring sheriffs to work with ICE. We'll vote against border security again in Washington. Vote Paxton”
