Call types stay separate
Straight-up, native winning-margin, observed against-the-spread, and totals never share a denominator or ladder.
Sports methodology / leaderboard-v5
These rules govern every public sports board.
Capture and denominator
We capture an attributable selection of a named side or total from declared public source surfaces. Vague lean language, retrospective statements, ambiguous speaker attribution, and picks published after kickoff are excluded. The denominator is every resolved eligible position; a missing pick is never a loss.
Straight-up, native winning-margin, observed against-the-spread, and totals never share a denominator or ladder.
A native caller predicts a winner and whole-point winning margin. Any displayed market spread is context only and is never copied into the call.
Ordinal rank requires 15 resolved eligible calls. Below that floor the record stays provisional. Eligible records sort by the published Wilson lower bound, so a thin perfect sample cannot outrank a proven record.
No usable closing line means exclusion from the baseline denominator with the exclusion disclosed. Ambiguous outcomes remain unresolved.
Winning-margin points · football v1
A wrong winner scores 0. A correct winner earns 50 base points plus up to 50 precision points. Exact margin scores 100; seven points off scores 75; fourteen points off scores 66.67. The receipt always shows predicted margin, actual selected-team margin, absolute error, and points.
points = 50 + 50 × 7 ÷ (7 + |predicted margin − actual margin|)Ranking
Resolved records are ranked within one sport, category, season, slate, and visible provenance cohort. Straight-up and against-the-spread boards sort by the lower bound of the published 95% Wilson confidence interval; a larger resolved sample breaks an exact tie. A 1–0 caller therefore cannot outrank a proven 28–2 caller merely by showing 100%. Winning-margin boards remain separate and sort by average accuracy points, then correct-winner rate.
Season is the default competitive window and resets annually. Career is the cumulative reputation view. Headline includes games admitted pre-kickoff through a tracked professional pick or curated feature; View all includes every eligible native-open event. Slate admission is append-only, with visible operator quarantine. Average closing spread and favorite-pick rate disclose selection difficulty but never alter rank.
The ranking eligibility floor is 15 resolved eligible calls. Records below that floor stay visible as provisional. Eligible records then sort by the Wilson lower bound; the floor and the sort do different jobs.
Version change
Leaderboard-v5 replaces win-percentage sorting with the Wilson 95% lower bound, makes current season the default with a Career filter, adds selection-profile disclosure, and separates Headline slate from View all. Prediction receipts remain immutable; this version changes presentation and ranking methodology, not historical evidence.
Corrections and disputes
Known coverage gaps remain visible. Anyone may report an issue without creating an account. A report opens an auditable record and never changes publication by itself; corrections are additive after evidence review.
